Sister Magic: The Trouble with Violet, by Anne Mazer

 This book is about an 8 year old girl and her 5 year old sister.  Their names are Mabel and Violet.  Mabel and Violets uncle comes to visit, uncalled for.  Uncle Varten wore a seersucker, a pair of leather shoes, rings.  He also had a leather satchel.  Mabel asks her mom why Uncle Varten was never spoken of in the family.  She did not know her mom had a baby brother either.

I liked this book because Mabel is going into 3rd grade and is 8 years old.  Her little sister Violet is going into Kindergarten and is 5 years old.
