I Survived the Earthquake of San Francisco, by Lauren Tarshis

This book was about a boy who lived in San Francisco and had a gold nugget in his pocket and a job as a newspaper boy.  Then the earthquake occurs and after, he goes to a new state for a new life, by using the nugget to pay for a train ticket.

I liked this book because the boys friend has an accent.

Two other books I would recommend are Artificial Intelligence AND Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
