Mississippi Jack, by L.A. Meyer

This book was about a girl named Jacky Faber who is running away from the English government.  In the process of getting to New Orleans she steals a boat from Mike Fink, gets tarred and feathered and learns how to gamble as a show girl.

I liked this book it is adventurous and unpredictable and the whole series flows together like one big book.

Two other books I would recommend are: Under the Jolly Roger AND In the Belly of the Bloodhound.
