Journey to Freedom: Maya Angelou, by Judith E. Harper

This book is about a determined woman, Maya Angelou.  Maya Angelou achieved most of the goals she made since she never gave up!  She was able to be a writer, dancer, poet, author, singer, song writer, director, teacher, play writer and a producer.  Maya was born in 1928 (segregation) so it was hard growing up but her brother Bailey protected her from cruel, un-colored people.  Also her and her brother went back and forth to her grandmother's house who lived in Arkansas and she lived with her mother in California.  Maya Angelou loves to tell/talk to people about her good and bad times of being determined to do something they put their mind to.

I liked this book because it shows whatever you put your mind to you can achieve it.
