The Red Pyramid, by Rick Riordan

This book follows and shares a similarity to another popular series Rick Riordan has also written: ancient mythology set in the modern day USA.  Carter and Sadie Kane, 2 siblings who have spent their lives separated, now have to face the harsh, margical realm of Egypt's past, as they go on a journey to find the old gods of Egypt and prevent an old, evil deity from destroying North America.

I liked this book because it stays true and accurately informs the reader about Egyptian mythology, as well as the descriptive humor.

Two other books I would recommend are: The Percy Jackson series AND The Throne of Fire
